Coffee Grounds

Eau Claire, WI

The Coffee Grounds has been a customer of Hoeft Builders for years, so when Coffee Grounds owner, Eric Nelson, outgrew his space and was looking at new location options, he contacted Peter Hoeft. Peter told him that the former Chippewa Valley Orthopedics building was going to be vacated, Eric signed on to lease the majority of the building. Hoeft Builders:

  • Procured the location and the lease
  • Completed the renovation and remodeling of the building
  • Secured additional tenants for the building – Sakura Skin Spa
  • Own the building and lease it back to the Coffee Grounds with an option to purchase

Gracewood Senior Living

Highland Park, St. Paul, MN

The operator of Gracewood Senior Living approached Hoeft Builders to renovate and expand an existing convent.  Hoeft Builders acted as a third party developer on this project to design and get approval for the various boards, commissions and councils in Highland Park.  While the approval process included 22 different approval meetings, every step of the approval process was met with zero resistance.  Hoeft Builders:

  • Secured the design review process using our architect
  • Worked hand-in-hand with Gracewood’s financial institution
  • Completed the renovation and expansion in October, 2014.

Many underlying issues with the existing structure were uncovered, including: asbestos, fire sprinklers that were not properly installed and the boiler system was not operational.  The issues were all resolved, while maintaining the original budget.  The new 36 bed senior assisted living complex was completed in October 2014.

Advanced Laser

Chippewa Falls, WI

Hoeft Builders contacted Advanced Laser and met with them to discuss their expansion plans. Advanced Laser had worked with another construction company in the past, but were not seeing their goals and dreams reflected in the plans that were supplied by the contractor. We suggested the design build approach where Hoeft hires the architect and shares Advanced Laser’s project needs with the architect. Hoeft and our architect designed the manufacturing and office expansion and new entry for the company. Hoeft was hired as the general contractor/construction manager because we listened to the management team at Advanced Laser and delivered what they wanted and needed.
